POP Ganesh Visarjan Idol – Peshwa Turban with Peacock Teal Dhoti, ~3ft

Welcome Lord Ganesh into your home this Ganesh Chaturthi with this striking ~3 ft Visarjan Ganapati idol, hand-crafted in Plaster of Paris (POP) — the traditional medium chosen for its fine sculptable detail and readiness for the visarjan (immersion) ritual that closes the festival.

This idol takes its cue from Maharashtra's Peshwa tradition: instead of a crown, Ganesha wears a pink-and-magenta pleated turban (pheta) with a proud fan crest and a broad gold band. A marigold-yellow uttariya crosses the shoulder, and a deep teal peacock-green dhoti with a pink-and-gold beaded border falls over the seat. The dark carved base is banded in purple, with silver parrots poised on either side and the faithful mushak at the feet.

Ornate silver-white jewelled necklaces and armlets layer across the chest, joined by a garland of pink jewels. Gold bangles ring the wrists, the trunk curves gently to one side, and the eyes and forehead markings are finished by hand.

Hand-painted with vivid colour and fine gold detailing, this idol is part of the "Heritage" collection by Shri Venilals.
