Kumkum (red powder) and chawal (rice) are used in almost every puja to put a tilak and bless the gods and guests. A tortoise shape is a sign of long life and good luck.
This holder is shaped like a tortoise with a shiny gold finish, red and green painted edge and two small round boxes with lids for kumkum and rice or haldi. It is about 15cm (6 inch) long and weighs about 53g. It is handy for your home temple, puja thali or as a small gift. Each piece is made by hand, so it can be a little different from the photo.

Most of what we sell is made by hand in India: our murtis, mandirs, pooja items, sarees and clothing. Because each piece is made by hand, no two are exactly the same. The carving, painting, pattern, stitching or finish may differ a little from the photo. Wood grain and marble markings are natural and vary from piece to piece.
