Lord Murugan Idol with Peacock – Temple Arch Base, Orange

Lord Murugan standing inside a carved temple arch, holding his vel (spear) upright, with his peacock at his feet. The dark wood-look arch sets off the ivory and gold of the murti beautifully. It is the largest piece in this range. This one has an orange dhoti.

Lord Murugan (Kartikeya) is the son of Shiv and Parvati. He is much loved in Tamil homes and is prayed to for courage, wisdom and success. His vel (spear) was a gift from his mother Parvati.
